Dream feeds and middle of the night diaper changes

We put our LO to sleep around 7p.   She stays asleep usually but gets fidgety around 10:30p so we dream feed her.  When we do this, she usually sleeps until 7-7:30am.  Do those of you that dream feed your little ones change their diaper?  I hate to wake her up for a diaper change during a dream feed, but I hate to leave her in the same diaper from 7p-7a.   Thoughts?

If the diaper isn't poopy or leaking I say leave her. However if you really want to change do it before the feed not after. As long as she's not prone to diaper rashes urine is somewhat hydrating to the skin. You don't usually see dry skin or eczema in that area for that reason. You can find Urine (urea) in some very hydrating creams.

@ASDJ,

We do this also. I use blue pampers dry and a ton of aquaphor diaper rash cream and try to time a clean diaper with bedtime. I've been noticing she has been pooping less at night as she gets older also. Also agree on the change before feeding.

No I don't change my baby in the night unless I can tell there's poo. It wakes him up too much and is harder to go back to sleep.

The way I see it is that my toddler is in her nappy for over 12 hours overnight (she sleeps 6pm-7am) so if that doesn't do her any harm then 10 hours for my baby (usually 8pm-6/7am) isn't going to hurt!

Unless she's poopy I leave her until morning.

Thanks guys!  I actually didn't know that about urine being somewhat hydrating!

@mommaC22515,

when you had bad acne rubbing a wet diaper over your face used t o be a remedy lol

I dream feed and change diapers while my little guy sleeps. He usually stays asleep or just goes right back to bed if he wakes slightly . I literally can't leave him in the same diaper cos he will wet the bed! If I go past 5 hours then he for sure has wet himself. Hasn't happened a lot but he won't wake up from being wet either! Just keeps on sleeping . It's crazy!

Also I change diaper after feeding otherwise he wakes .

Our lo goes from 6 to 6 in the same diaper.  No poop, no change!  He doesn't dream feed.  He'll go 6-9 hours for his first, then another 2-3.  We don't mind, we are morning people.

I change my son every time he eats. He eats at most twice overnight I can't leave a wet diaper on him it makes me feel bad

I don't change my LO unless I know he pooped. We also use the overnight diapers
